The character of Alba
Rochi Hernández, 28, starred in the adaptation of "La casa de los espíritus" alongside Nicole Wallace and Dolores Fonzi. Her character, Alba, is described by the actress as a "superheroine" who narrates the story from the beginning. Hernández says her performance required "putting her body and soul" into it and that the intensity of the role was "particularly intense".
Filming process
The miniseries shoot lasted three months and a half in Chile. During that time, Hernández took part in wardrobe fittings, rehearsals, and talks with the crew. The showrunners, Francisca Alegría and Fernanda Urrejola, together with Andrés Wood, worked on the adaptation for five years. The actress highlights collaboration with intimacy coordinator Nico Francella, who also plays Alba’s romantic interest.
Emotional challenges
Hernández recalls that torture, sex, and exposure scenes were "super hard". Before filming, she felt emotionally drained, even crying on the flight back to Santiago. After the takes, she used magnet therapy and other cleansing practices to recover.
Upcoming projects
After completing "La casa de los espíritus", the actress is preparing for her role in "Cautiva", a Flow miniseries set to release in September. Hernández says her experience on the series has prepared her to "dive into those depths" again.
Early career
As a young girl, Rochi dreamed of acting and music. She began studying at 18 or 19, encouraged by her mother to do musical comedy outside school. Although her mother didn’t take her to child castings, the actress thanks her for allowing her to decide her own path.
Final reflection
Hernández concludes that her career leads her to face farewells and nostalgic moments, but she enjoys meeting people and sharing experiences. "I love sharing with others and, in some way, I like those nostalgic endings too," she says.
