MELBOURNE, August 24 2024 - Len Ikitau, who recovered from an ankle injury, is ready to return to the Wallabies midfield in the upcoming test against Argentina in San Salvador. The centre, who missed the first test under coach Les Kiss against Japan, is expected to start. Ikitau can play positions 12, 13, 23 or 22 and has said he is happy to cover any of them.
The player, who has played 12 times under former coach Joe Schmidt and 13 with the Brumbies, said: “I love playing 12 or 13. I’m happy to do my part, whether that’s 12, 13, 23 or 22, or just covering as a centre.”
Queensland Reds centre Isaac Henry is also on Kiss’s options list and proved his worth as an outside centre in the win over Japan in Townsville, when Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii was hamstring-strained.
Hunter Paisami, who had strong outings in the wins over Japan, also competes for the spot. The Wallabies aim to improve consistency after losses to England and Scotland in the Nations Championship and after mixed results in the 2022 and 2024 tours against Argentina.
